Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council plans to spend £300,000 on cutting parking charges in Nuneaton, with some of the money coming from a delay to their public sector decarbonisation scheme.

Caravans taking up a car park in Portobello, Edinburgh, have promped debate on the purpose of the space, with some complaining about those living in caravans not paying council tax, but others defending the alternative use of the space as housing.

Keswick is introducing a novel alternative to park and ride schemes – Park and sail, where people can park at the rugby club and buy discounted boat tickets to popular destinations the other side of Derwent Water

In Coventry, new parking charges are being introduced at th War Memorial Park, but stays under three hours will be free, so most people visiting the park will still be able to park without paying. In the city centre, the Cox Street car park is due to close so that the space can be used as a depot and charging area for new electric buses.
